Nominations Due Dec. 12
The HCBA gives three pro bono
awards each year to recognize individuals for their commitment to legal
services. The Distinguished Service Award
recognizes an attorney for career-long work on behalf of the community. The two
Excellence Awards recognize current or recent excellence in service by one
attorney from the private sector and one attorney from the public sector.
Nominations for the 2015 awards are due by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, December 12,

"Vintage" and "New" Lawyers: The Circle of Life
So. Picture this: "Large” downtown law firm conference room; multi-generational attendees; gathered for yet another meeting; opinions aflutter. And then: "Ah, Mr. Nelson, what does someone of your ‘vintage’ think we should do?” [I won’t tell you who asked the question, but his initials are Art Boylan.] First instinct? Strangle the young whipper-snapper. Second instinct? "Slow down, Tom; he no doubt means it as a compliment.” Third instinct? Let’s have some fun with this. Hence, the "Vintage Lawyers Group” of the HCBA.

Apply now for 2015 Bar Foundation Grants: Requests Dues Jan. 16
The Hennepin County Bar Foundation (HCBF) provides more than $100,000 in grants each year to local legal services organizations that serve our community. HCBF-supported agencies and programs are doing work that matters -- serving individuals in need and furthering the ideals of the legal profession. 2015 grant applications are due by 4:30 p.m. on January 16, 2015.
