This position plays a vital role in Carleton’s commitment to maintaining a response to sexual misconduct that is comprehensive in its scope, supportive in its approach, and fair in its execution. The campus investigator and consultant has primary responsibility for coordinating Carleton’s training and education initiatives surrounding sexual misconduct prevention and the investigation of misconduct involving students, faculty, staff and visitors. SENIOR ATTORNEY: As a Senior Attorney for John Deere in Moline, IL, you will provide legal advice to the Company’s Environmental, Health and Safety group while working under the direction of two senior attorneys. Within this role, you will provide legal counsel to the Company in the following areas:
· Regulatory compliance related to energy
· Dangerous goods shipping regulations
· Global non-road mobile source emissions regulations
· US and global product-related environmental compliance
· US and global facility related environmental compliance
· Occupational safety compliance
We need an excellent communicator with effective writing skills, who has skill in interpersonal communications, negotiation and conflict resolution. A Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school is required. We also require:
· 5+ years of experience practicing environmental law in a law firm, government agency or corporate law department
· Knowledge of environmental regulations, with specific emphasis on air, hazardous waste, hazardous materials; particularly those involving electric and electronic hazardous materials, remediation and due diligence, water, occupational safety and health, dangerous goods and administrative procedural laws
· Ability to perform legal research using the Internet, Lexis Nexis and other various on-line tools
· Ability to provide legal advice in a clear, concise manner in both oral and written presentations
