Ward-Reichard has an extensive record of service in the community in addition to her four-year track to the HCBA presidency, including activity in the Hennepin County, Minnesota State, and American bar associations, as well as Minnesota Women Lawyers and the Minnesota Defense Lawyers Association. She has served as president of the Hennepin County Bar Foundation, and has chaired its Bar Benefit since 2006. This benefit raises around $100,000 annually for grants to legal service programs in the county. Ward-Reichard also serves as the president of the Advisory Board for the Minnesota Urban Debate League, which promotes debate and leadership skills to urban middle school and high school students.
Ward-Reichard became involved with the HCBA early in her career, serving first on the committee that oversees The Hennepin Lawyer publication and then becoming more involved with other aspects of the association. In 2004, she joined the board of the Hennepin County Bar Foundation, where she served as president in 2007. That same year Ward-Reichard entered the HCBA leadership track, when she was elected secretary.
Ward-Reichard and her husband, Kevin, have three children. In her personal time, she enjoys spending time with her family, music, traveling, gardening, and cooking.
Ward-Reichard’s experience with and passion for the profession predict a busy and productive year for the association and its 8,400 members.
