MINNEAPOLIS (05/11/11): -- The Hennepin County Bar Association’s Diversity Committee has recognized the law firm of Hamre, Schumann, Mueller, & Larson (HSML) for the Diversity Award for a Legal Employer. The award will be presented to the firm at the annual meeting of the Hennepin County Bar Association on May 17.
The Diversity Award is given to a legal employer who displays an outstanding commitment to diversity in the legal profession. The awards committee took note of the firm’s commitment to attracting, recruiting, and retaining a qualified, diverse workforce. Diversity is a core value at Hamre, Schumann, Mueller & Larson.
As a legal employer, HSML demonstrates a commitment to recruiting and hiring professionals, including attorneys, patent engineers, and staff from diverse ethnic, racial, gender, and cultural backgrounds. Eight of thirteen attorneys and engineers at HSML are of diverse Asian backgrounds. Also, the firm proudly announced the promotion of its first partner (a Chinese American lawyer) since the firm was founded. Their strong dedication to diversity deserves recognition.
