Attorneys often see clients who appear to be suffering from substance misuse, addiction or other impairments.  While it is not the job of attorneys to diagnose their clients, what are the roles, responsibilities and opportunities of attorneys? How do attorneys’ biases govern their actions and behaviors?  How do attorneys proceed differently if it’s their client or the opposing party? What if the issue is not with a client but with a colleague?  The answers are seldom simple and never easy.  Join Joan Bibelhausen, JD, Executive Director of Lawyers Concerned for Lawyers, as she provides an ethical framework as well as practical guidance and resources for attorneys facing these questions, especially in the civil litigation context.

Speaker: Joan Bibelhausen, JD, Executive Director of Lawyers Concerned for Lawyers
