This program will help you prepare for pre-trial aspects of civil litigation. Gain a better understanding about developing effective strategies to better prepare you for a successful trial. Discuss how to use different tactics and discovery methods throughout the pretrial process to effectively represent your client and achieve better results. Included in the materials are sample deposition outlines, discovery requests, and more!

Topics include:

  • Outlining Your Plan of Action: Using the first information you receive on a case, set up the steps necessary to ensure your client's success.
  • Discovery: Knowing what information to obtain and how is one thing, but knowing what to do with it is another. In this segment, learn how to conduct effective discovery and how to use it during trial.
  • 213 Disclosures: Make sure you are giving proper notice for your witnesses.
  • Assessing the Value of a Case: Be sure to get your client the best amount possible by properly assessing the value of the case and knowing how to value each aspect.
  • Depositions: Depositions play an important role in any case. Learn how to get the best information during a deposition and then how to use it in trial.
  • Motion Practice & Summary Judgment: Some cases can be won or lost through effective motion practice and a properly composed Summary Judgment request. Make sure your motions are setting up your client for success.
  • Mediation: Mediation is an important and often mandatory part of any case. Ensure that your case and client are prepared for it, and discover what it can reveal.
  • Preparing Your Client and Case for Trial: Organization and preparation are key components for a successful trial. Without them, clients may fumble on the stand, or you may forget crucial exhibits. Learn how to prevent these and other critical mistakes.
