Civil Litigation: 2014 Judicial Election Results: What Do They Mean for Civil Attorneys and Their Clients?

1.0 CLE credit applied for this program.

Featuring: Charles Nauen, Lockridge Grindal Nauen PLLP and Christopher Stafford, Fredrikson & Byron PA

Judicial elections are usually low-profile races, attracting little attention outside the legal community.  But the old conventional wisdom—that judicial races are won and lost in the bar associations—holds less true each election cycle.  How can judicial candidates connect with voters—or should they? Is there a role for civil litigators and the bar association in that process?  Presenters Charlie Nauen and Christopher Stafford were the Committee Chair and Campaign Manager, respectively, for Citizens for Justice Lillehaug. They will discuss the recent campaign and the long-term trends affecting judicial elections. They will also provide context for the recent election results and discuss their effects on civil litigants.
