Featuring: Hon. James Swenson, Hennepin County Family Court, M. Sue Wilson, M. Sue Wilson Law Offices PA, Kristy Rodd, Fredrikson & Byron PA and Mediator/Consensual Special Magistrate Steven Schmidt

Please join us to hear an exemplary panel featuring the Honorable James Swenson, practicing attorneys M. Sue Wilson and Kristy Rodd, and mediator/consensual special magistrate Steven Schmidt as they discuss trial strategies, based on their personal experiences, for how to prepare effective cross examination as well as how to effectively oppose an adverse party’s case-in-chief.  From both the perspective of the Bench as well as that of litigators, the panel will focus on skills to successfully minimize the opposing party’s case-in-chief as well as how to prepare for effective cross-examination in the courtroom.  In addition, both Kristi Rodd and Steven Schmidt as they specifically discuss how they prepared for the mock trial presentation they participated in at the 2014 AAML Divorce Camp CLE, with that fact pattern being available to all attendees.

Afterwards, please join your colleagues immediately after the CLE for appetizers and happy hour in the Atlas atrium with appetizers being hosted by the law firms of Henson & Efron, P.A., Lindquist Vennum, and DeWalt, Chawla + Saksena, LLC. Cash bar will also be available. This HCBA CLE season, in which we have examined important skills and best practices from the beginning of a case to a trial, will conclude with our upcoming CLE which will focus on strategies and preparation for the best use of expert witness testimony at trial.
