Environmental Law: Interdisciplinary Ethics: What Can Attorneys and Engineers Learn From Each Other About Professional Ethics and the Environment?

1.0 CLE credit applied for this program.

Featuring: Louis N. Smith, Smith Partners PLLP

Attorneys and engineers frequently work together for mutual clients who face important challenges in the stewardship of natural resources and the environment.  This one hour seminar will compare and contrast the Rules of Professional Conduct for attorneys in Minnesota; Minnesota Rules Chapter 1805 of the Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience, and Interior Design; and the Code of Ethics of the American Society of Civil Engineers.  We will identify key ethical principles from the legal and engineering disciplines, and then apply them to a series of case studies posing ethical and professional dilemmas in the environmental context.
