Implicit Bias: New Studies and Practical Advice for Dealing with Bias

What is implicit bias and how does it affect lawyers? Bryan Browning will lead a discussion on what implicit bias is and how it impacts an attorney’s practice through real-life examples. The discussion will include how implicit bias influences clients, in-house counsel, opposing counsel, and law firm management and provide strategies for addressing common biases. 

Following the presentation, our panelists Colleen McGarry and Maria Mitchell will join Mr. Browning for a discussion on implicit bias, moderated by Andrew Deutsch. The panel will discuss how implicit bias affects the practice of law in private and public settings, and how lawyers can recognize and reduce the impact of implicit bias.
