WEBCAST | eDiscovery Essentials: Document Management, Preservation, Collection, Review and Analysis
This CLE is presented by Eric P. Mandel, co-drafter of The Sedona Principles, Third Edition -- the recently updated leading secondary authority in area of eDiscovery. In this hour long session, Eric will provide a high level overview of the evolving and expanding universe of the discovery of electronically stored information (ESI) in litigation and regulatory response. The session will start with an examination of the digital landscape facing attorneys, including increasing volumes, types and sources of ESI that may fall within the scope of discovery. In this section, we will address hot topics such as Internet of Things and Cloud Computing. The CLE then moves into the essential components of eDiscovery as addressed in the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM), including the identification and search for electronic records, data preservation and collection. Finally, we will examine the options for effectively reviewing large volumes of ESI, including the use of Technology Assisted Review (TAR) and so-called Predictive Coding (PC), as well as managed review services.
