This one-hour program will begin with a discussion of some of the roadblocks families encounter in cabin succession planning, including:  financial contributions from family members, buy-outs and opt-outs, decision-making and governance, succession of ownership and dividing property.  Then, we will discuss mediation, how cabin succession planning mediation is different from traditional lawsuit settlement mediation, how to prepare for a cabin succession planning mediation and negotiating the process. We will then engage in an interactive discussion of how mediation can help overcome cabin succession planning roadblocks.

Speaker: Margaret Cronin, Shareholder, Leonard Street and Deinard and Aimee Gourlay, Director, Mediation Center for Dispute Resolution
