the Hennepin County Bar Association
Minneapolis (05-21-04): --
Sonia Miller-Van
Oort has been
elected to serve as Secretary of the Hennepin County
Bar Association (HCBA), Minnesota’s largest local
bar association, with a membership of nearly 8,000
members. The position of Secretary is the first step of
a five-year leadership track of service on the HCBA’s
Executive Committee. She is scheduled to serve as
president during 2007-2008.
An associate attorney with the Flynn Gaskins &
Bennett law firm in Minneapolis since 2002,
Miller-Van Oort focuses her practice primarily in

Government and Russian, and the Indiana University
School of Law, Miller-Van Oort was an attorney with

position.

divisions, but has also served on various policy and

legal services committees. Selected as one of Minnesota
Lawyer’s "Up and Coming Attorneys" in
2002, Miller-Van Oort has also been a frequent speaker
at national conferences and continuing education
seminars.
