Attorney Discussion Groups/
Group Mentoring Program
Sign Up Now

Hennepin County Bar Association’s Group Mentoring Program provides the advice you need from those who know best—other attorneys. Share insights with other lawyers while you expand your network and make new friends along the way.

Participants are put into small groups of about 10 attorneys, with a mix of practice areas and levels of experience. Groups generally meet for lunch about once a month to discuss whatever is on their minds—from substantive law, to marketing, to new technology. We cover it all—from the trivial to the trial.

Now in its thirteenth year, the Group Mentoring Program continues to be just what attorneys are asking for, and meets the needs of all bar members, from rookies to seasoned professionals.

New discussion groups are forming now. Join the conversation today.

For more information on HCBA attorney mentoring or to sign up, contact Joy Hamilton, HCBA Membership Director at joy@hcba.org or 612-752-6614.

Celebrate Pro Bono, October 25-31

The Hennepin County Bar Association will be taking part in the National Pro Bono Celebration scheduled for October 25 through 31, 2009. The celebration is a coordinated national effort to showcase the great difference that pro bono lawyers make to the nation, its system of justice, its communities and, most of all, to the clients they serve. The week is also dedicated to the quest for more pro bono volunteers to meet the ever-growing legal needs of this country’s most vulnerable citizens.

The initiative was launched because of the increasing need for pro bono services during these harsh economic times and the unprecedented response from attorneys to meet this demand. More information on this national initiative is available at www.celebrateprobono.org.

Although national in breadth, various local opportunities are available to participate in this initiative. A variety of CLEs will be offered to enlighten attorneys about pro bono work. Information on local opportunities available during Pro Bono Week is available at www.projusticemn.org/volunteer_week/.

Volunteer opportunities abound through most legal service organizations. You can make a difference.
