Wish
Upon a Prom
Invites Public Participation
Minneapolis (1-26-05):
-- The New Lawyers Section (NLS) of the Hennepin County
Bar Association (HCBA) has created a project that will
make local high school students’ dream come true. With
the Wish Upon a Prom project individuals and businesses
can donate new or gently used formal dresses for a
Patrick Henry High School student to wear to her prom.
A boutique will be set up at the school to display the
dresses, and the NLS members will assist the girls in
choosing the perfect fit and color for their personal
styles. Gift certificates for restaurants, accessories,
and other donated items will be given out following a
raffle for the prizes. Also, local hairdressers are
asked to volunteer their time to create beautiful
fashions for each girl’s hair.
Businesses can donate make-up, jewelry, and other
accessories, and individuals are welcome to give new or
used dresses to help fulfill each under-privileged
teen’s dream. Please drop off donations of unused
make-up, and gently used accessories and dresses at the
HCBA’s office on the third floor of the City Center in
downtown Minneapolis between March 15th and 18th.
Questions regarding the
Wish Upon a Prom project can be directed to Cyrenthia
