|Susie Brown Becomes New Executive Director For Hennepin County Bar Association|

MINNEAPOLIS: -- Susie Brown has been selected as the next executive director of the Hennepin County Bar Association (HCBA), coming to this position after serving for six years as the public policy director of the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits (MCN). She begins her new position on October 3, succeeding Duane Stanley on his retirement. Stanley worked for the HCBA for 29 years and served as executive director since 2015. Brown will become the ninth executive director of the HCBA.
Brown has extensive experience in nonprofit management. In her work with the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits, she represented MCN and the nonprofit sector with policy makers, the media, state and national infrastructure groups, coalition partners, and other stakeholders. Prior to that position, Brown worked in management roles for a variety of nonprofits, including Child Care Works, The Family Partnership, and Planned Parenthood. She is also an adjunct professor at the Hamline University School of Business, where she teaches courses in nonprofit management and public administration.
Brown received a B.A. in international affairs from Lewis and Clark College, and a M.P.A. from the University of Vermont. She also was selected as a University of Minnesota Policy Fellow in 2005. She lives in St. Paul with husband, Tim, and daughter, Phoebe.
The Hennepin County Bar Association is a professional society representing nearly 8,000 area attorneys with a wide variety of services for the community and the profession. The association strives to ensure the fairness and accessibility of the legal system by promoting public understanding and confidence in our system of justice and by working along with the courts to improve the administration of justice.
