March 2014 President's Column

The peculiar calculus for publishing a weekly college newspaper in the early 1980s somehow required the staffers to pull an all-nighter every Thursday to get the paper out by Friday afternoon. We would roll in to the newspaper office sometime after dinner to edit, proofread, and lay out the paper. Inevitably, the typesetter would get backed up and there would be a lull, a perfect time for a couple of us to make a late-night run to the Sangertown Mall for some munchies to get through the rest of the night.
