|Target Corporation Recognized for Commitment to Diversity|

The Diversity Award is given to a legal employer who displays an outstanding commitment to diversity in the legal profession. As an employer, Target Corporation demonstrates a strong commitment to diversity through a variety of initiatives. First, internally, each area of Target receives a quarterly diversity scorecard that measures success in representation, retention, and reputation. Target team members are also engaged in six diversity and inclusion business councils (African American, Asian, LGBTA, Hispanic, Women’s, and Military); over 6,000 team members, including 32% of law-related team members, are involved in diversity and inclusion business councils. Externally, Target has leveraged an Outside Counsel Scorecard designed to hold its partner firms accountable for their performance in the area of diversity. Target has also championed diversity in the greater legal community through its 1L Diverse Student Mock Interview Program, Diversity in Law Scholarship Program, Micro Inequities Seminar, and Park Avenue Walk-in Legal Clinic.
