Insurance & Tort Law: First Party Property Claims and Matching Issues

1.0 CLE credit applied for this program.

The HCBA Insurance & Tort Law Practice Section will sponsor a seminar on issues of smoking hot importance to insurance coverage lawyers, particularly in the first-party property field, arising in the Cedar Bluff v. American Family case now pending before the Minnesota Supreme Court (which may issue its decision any day now).  The case concerns (1) judicial deference to insurance appraisals; and (2) the extent of an insurer’s obligation to replace damaged property when matching materials are not available to repair.  Appellate counsel for the insurer, Mark Bradford, and for the policyholder, Curt Roeder and Tony Smith, together with the authors of several amicus briefs in the case, will host a panel discussion about the issues and outcome of that case.

The HCBA Insurance & Tort Law Practice Section sponsors monthly programs with CLE credit on the fourth Tuesday of each month, from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM, followed by an informal get-together at Lyon’s Pub across the street.  Mark your calendars!  Join our mailing list!

Featuring: Mark Bradford, Bassford Remele, Curtis Roeder and Anthony Smith, Roeder Smith Jadin PLLC, Christopher Yetka, Barnes & Thornburg LLP and Adina Bergstrom, Sauro & Bergstrom PLLC and Beth Jenson Prouty, Arthur Chapman Kettering Smetak & Pikala PA
