Adine Momoh Begins Leadership Track at HCBA

Minneapolis: -- The Hennepin County Bar Association (HCBA) welcomes Adine S. Momoh to membership on its Executive Committee for the 2015-16 bar year that begins July 1.  Momoh was elected to the association’s officer ranks as secretary, beginning a five-year leadership track that will have her serve as president for 2018-19, the HCBA’s 100th year.

An alumna of the University of St. Thomas (2006), summa cum laude, and William Mitchell College of Law (2009), magna cum laude, Momoh is a trial attorney at Stinson Leonard Street LLP, where she focuses her practice on the areas of complex business and commercial litigation, securities litigation, estates and trusts litigation, and creditors’ rights and bankruptcy.

Prior legal employment includes serving as a federal judicial law clerk for the Honorable Jeanne J. Graham, U.S. Magistrate Judge for the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota.

Momoh has been active in the HCBA, serving as co-chair of the Civil Litigation Section since 2011, and serving on the Board of Directors for over three years.  She is also active with other legal organizations both local and national, including Minnesota Philanthropy Partners, The Saint Paul Foundation, Minnesota Community Foundation, Minnesota State Bar Association (MSBA), American Bar Association (ABA), Minnesota Association of Black Lawyers, Minnesota Women Lawyers, and the Federal Bar Association.

The recipient of numerous honors and recognitions, Momoh was, most recently, named a finalist in the ABA’s 2014 National Outstanding Young Attorney of the Year Award.  The MSBA honored her with its first-ever Outstanding New Lawyer of the Year Award, and recognized her for the third time as a North Star Lawyer for pro bono service.  She was named a Fellow of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity in 2013
