The development and events coordinator supports the day-to-day activities related to the successful implementation of the fundraising activities and events of the Hennepin County Bar Foundation, and the events and programming of the Hennepin County Bar Association.Job Responsibilities:Development: The development and events coordinator works with the executive director to align expanding fundraising efforts with the organizational goals of the Hennepin County Bar Foundation. The coordinator will maintain and manage the donor database, conduct research of potential donors and avenues of giving, prepare persuasive fundraising materials, generate compelling written correspondence and promotional articles, respond to donor inquiries, acknowledge gifts, coordinate volunteers, maintain overall development timelines, and provide assessments of progress.Events: The development and events coordinator, in conjunction with the events manager, will plan and implement all aspects of Hennepin County Bar Association and Foundation events.  Duties include event planning, marketing, speaker and venue coordination, database management for tracking contacts and attendees, preparing invitations, nametags and acknowledgements, coordinating materials, managing the registration process, and organizing and participating in event staffing. General Staffing: In our small office, we all fill many roles and pitch in as needed.  This includes providing reception and administrative tasks, assisting at association programs, and other duties as assigned. Volunteer: Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid (MMLA) has an exciting volunteer opportunity for retired attorneys.  Join our “Active Senior Attorney Project.”  We are looking for two volunteers to commit to about 3 hours a week of volunteer time at our office in downtown Minneapolis.  Retired attorneys have been helping the Senior Law Project of MMLA do client intake interviews for over a decade.  Volunteers are not giving advice but instead are gathering case information and issue spotting to help collect that information.  We will train you in to our system and work with your schedule.  The Senior Law Project exclusively serves seniors age 60+ who reside in Hennepin or Anoka county.  Active Senior Attorney Project volunteers commit to one morning (or afternoon) a week to come to our office and complete client interviews.  It can be a fun variety of clients and a great way to participate in the legal services community.
